A Worship Guide for July 26
We hope that you will find this guide helpful as you worship at home if you are not able to join with us.
Call to Worship
 Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous!
Praise befits the upright.
 Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre;
make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!
 Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.
 For the word of the LORD is upright,
and all his work is done in faithfulness.
 He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD.
 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made,
and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
 He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap;
he puts the deeps in storehouses.
 Let all the earth fear the LORD;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
 For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.
Father, we shout for joy, giving praise and thanks, singing to you because you are worthy of our worship. We along with all the universe are your creation, and so we owe you our praise. But we also want to sing praises to you because of your steadfast love to us. You gave us your Son, that we might be forgiven and brought into the hope of eternal joy in your presence. So we give thanks! Amen.
Christ we call out to you in praise. We praise you for who you are and that your truth is good and unchanging. You are our advocate with the Father and the propitiation for our sins. We come to you this morning lifting our prayer to you as one people united by the blood you shed for us. We call out to you for the sin on our hearts. Forgive us for loving the world and the things of this world more than we should. We confess all to often we make minor justifications for major sins and grade ourselves on a curve. Expose our sins and reveal to us our wicked ways. May we be a repentant people that desires Holiness and your glory.
We come this morning praying for your church and specifically one part of your body this morning and that is Christ Our King Community Church and Pastor James White. We pray for your word to be preached boldly and that their leadership would lead them into greater desire for the glory of your name.
We pray for the Bhil of India. We ask that your name be made clear amongst them as the one true God. We pray that you would raise people up from amongst them to do the work of an evangelist and we know you will do this as you have promised in your word that all tribes and tongues will worship you and surround your great throne when you return.
We pray for Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary and for Imad and their leadership. Grant them clear wisdom and grace Lord that can only come from you as they seek to equip leaders who will move about the middle east. We pray for these men and women who will be leading and serving you in these churches.
Lastly, we pray for Tom and Nik this morning. We pray that as Tom gives the charge to Nik, that your holy spirit would fill him as he breaks the word. Father we are thankful for the time we have had with Nik, his love for your word, and pray also for him as he moves to lead another congregation. Lord, as we listen, we pray we would not only be hearers but doers of your word. We thank you for the word that is breathed out by you and the word that is used to equip us for every good work and how you will bring it to completion. We pray in Jesus name, Amen.
Read the Bible
2 Timothy 4:1–5, I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. (ESV)

Nik's Pastoral Reflections and Tom's Final Charge are available on audio HERE.
In 2 Timothy 4:1-5, Paul charges Timothy to fulfill the ministry the Lord has given him. He is called to keep in mind that he will minister before the face of God, preaching the word of God and suffering before the people of God. With this encouragement, Paul instructs Timothy towards faithfulness. This is the charge that I will give to Nik as he prepares to lead a new work in Nashville.
Review and Apply
Rejoice in God's care for his flock and let us pray for Nik and his family as they begin this work. Let us also consider our work of ministry here in Raleigh, and let us also fulfill the ministries the Lord has given to us in faithfulness and joy.
