April 8 - A New People in a New Day: 2 Corinthians 5:16-18
Easter is more than just a celebration of death being defeated. The resurrection of the Son of Man has inaugurated a whole new age. Christ has set into motion the beginnings of the fulfillment of God’s promise to make a new heaven and new earth. But for now we live in the overlapping of ages where the new creation has begun and the old creation is fading. In this Christians that are the living evidence and foretaste of the new age that is to come. For this reason, our lives are to be marked by an eternal perspective, where all that we do and experience here is affected by our confidence in a life to come. The confidence that we have to live this way comes from God, who through Christ has reconciled us to himself.
