Adult Sunday School   Sunday mornings, 9:00 a.m.

We began a new series on January 9 on the topic of personal finances.  As Pastor Tom mentioned recently in his sermon on Malachi 3, our use of the resources that God has entrusted to us is a “window into our souls”.  The goal of this class is that we would grow in our desire to honor God in this area, and in our understanding of how to do so. This series on personal finances will continue through January 29. Please join us on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.

Wednesday Evening Activities Kickoff   Wednesday, January 11

Our Wednesday evening activities run from 6:45-8:30 p.m.  Everyone is invited to get involved. We have many opportunities for growth in the women’s Bible study, men’s Table Talk, student ministries or the children’s Joyful Noise/His Kids. We have classes for all ages. Childcare is available.

Church Plant 24 Hour Fast   Friday, January 13, 7:00 p.m., Sanctuary

Join us as we meet to pray and initiate a 24-hour fast.  Our desire is to humble ourselves before God, and express our absolute dependence upon him as we move forward with the efforts to plant a church in Rolesville, NC.

Refreshments and Fellowship   Sunday, January 15, following the service

There will be a time of fellowship and refreshments following the service. Stay and enjoy.

Sisters in Christ Fellowship   Saturday, January 28, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

The women's ministry gathers every other month for equipping and encouragement. On Saturday, January 28, 9:30-11:30 a.m., this particular gathering will be a mentoring workshop, where a panel of women who are or have been involved in mentoring will share a brief account of their experience. Join us for fellowship and to consider whether God is calling you to a mentoring relationship within our church body. All are welcome!

Growing Together: Marriage Weekend   Friday-Saturday, February 17-18

This February we will be hosting a marriage conference with Dr. Robert Jones as the speaker. If you’re married, you’ll be able to apply it all immediately. And single individuals will be ahead of the curve after learning these truths to apply to their dating relationships and possible future marriage. Plan to be encouraged and equipped to walk in marriages that grow in unity and love. Visit to register and find more information.

Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life by Donald Whitney

The freedom to grow in godliness—to naturally express Christ's character through your own personality—is in large part dependent on a deliberate cultivation of the spiritual disciplines. Far from being legalistic, restrictive, or binding, as they are often perceived, the spiritual disciplines are actually the means to unparalleled spiritual liberty.

So if you'd like to embark on a lifelong quest for godliness, Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life will help you on your way. Based on the rich heritage left us by the early church fathers, the Puritan writers, and Jesus Christ Himself, this book takes you through a carefully selected array of disciplines including Scripture reading, prayer, worship, Scripture meditation, evangelism, serving, stewardship, Scripture application, fasting, silence and solitude, journaling, and learning. Cost: $11.

Serving Opportunities

 Refugee Tutoring/Transportation

Our Wednesday night tutoring time begins again on January 11 at 5:45 p.m. at the church. Tutors for all levels are needed. If you are interested - but haven't come yet - we would love to have you join us. You can shadow a tutor until you feel comfortable on your own. We also need drivers for the students TO church and FROM church. Pickup is at 5:15pm. Typically we have between 20 and 25 students needing transportation each week. The return drivers leave church at 6:45pm. If you are dropping kids off for Wednesday night activities and have some free time - would you consider driving a load of students home? Please contact Michele Suffridge at 848-2138 if you can help.
