8:30am – 12:30pm
MAUNDY THURSDAY: April 9, 7:00PM
This service commemorates the final evening Jesus spent together with his disciples before he was killed. The term maundy comes from the Latin for "commandment," a reference to the new command that Jesus gave his disciples during that last supper: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another" (John 13:34). We share the Lord's Supper together on Maundy Thursday, remembering Jesus' last supper with his closest followers.
GOOD FRIDAY: APRIL 10, 3:00PM
This service is held at 3:00pm, the time that Jesus died after hanging on the cross for six hours (Mark 15:25, 34). It is a somber service meditating on the words that Jesus spoke from the cross. The four gospels of the New Testament record seven different sayings that Jesus makes from the cross. We will reflect on the fifth of these seven sayings, "I thirst." (John 19:28-29)
EASTER SUNDAY: APRIL 12 AT 8:30AM & 11:00AM
Jesus said goodbye to the grave and overcame death on the first day of the week. This is why Christian churches meet on Sunday mornings, a weekly reminder that we gather to worship a Savior who broke the chains of death and all that enslaves humanity.
We will have services at 8:30am and 11:00am this Sunday as usual. There will not be classes at 10:00am, but instead we will have a fellowship time with light refreshments in the lobby (nursery will be available at 8:30am and 11:00am, but not at 10:00am).
